Change DD 214

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

I got an Under Honorable Conditions (General) Discharge from the military back in 2005. Since then I been working overseas, for DOD, and other contractors for the government. But now that I'm trying to work overseas again, I'm told the military only want people that have Honorable Discharges. So how do I go about changing my type of Discharge.

There is a very simple answer, you can't. There is no way to request and receive a change in discharge status without proper causation. That causation must be one of the two following reasons; you received the category of discharge in error or you received the category of discharge unjustly. The regulations that govern the non-judicial board that may review your request has no other options. There is no procedure to simply change your discharge because you have behaved since you were separated, that is simply a myth. Do not listen to Rajones, he knows less about this process then you and will not be receiving a change in his category of discharge either.
