Question

Civil Relief Act???

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

In Jan 09 my wife and I entered into a lease agreement on a house. I am in the military, and I was to be on station for over a year so I didn't think a 1 yr lease agreement would be a problem. I came on orders to PCS unaccompanied to Korea. I notified the landlord in Apr and provided a copy of orders in July and informed them that I would be moving my wife and child to Luke AFB to live in the housing on post while I am in Korea. The landlord didn't show any hard feelings of this and even had us show the house for her since she lived over a hour away.
After completely moving out the landlord sent me refund of $350. The actual refundable deposit amount was suppose to be $1125. She stated that due to allowing me only to pay 99 for the first month rent with a 1 yr lease...she went ahead and deducted the rest which was $776 of the normal $875 a month rent.
Can she keep this portion of the deposit? I don't remember anything about the $99 first month rent due to signing for a 1 YR LEASE...but for a move-in special. I have copies of all the agreement and no where does it state $99 for the first month for a 1 yr lease...just simply intial rent payment.
I have moved before due to PCSing and I was under the impression from that move anytime you break a contract due to military orders you cannot be charged more than the time you lived at residence and you should receive all deposits if there is no need of repairs...is this true??
