| | | Civilian Lawyers What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
I may be going to a SPCM and amd trying to weight the pros and cons of a civilina lawyer. It will more than likely cost around 5k (I am guessing) which would be my entire savings. I was told that there is not much difference between the military and civilian attorneys so I should just save my money and go with a military attorney.
Does anyone have any experiences one way or the other? |

Does anyone have any experiences one way or the other? | Double your estimate and you would be more accurate. It really all depends on the strength of your case and what your potential punishment may be. If you feel like the evidence against you is fairly weak then a military lawyer may be the way to go. If you feel that the punishment you are facing if convicted is far worse than the fiscal damages incurred by hiring a private attorney than that is the way to go. Remember that a private attorney gets paid the same regardless of the outcome of your trial. | |
