Don't want to go

What is the name of your state? FL

What can I legally do to get out of the army reserves? My group is about to be depoyed and I really do not want to go.

What can I do that would not be a dishonorable discharge?

As the good Colonel Badapple would suggest, tell them you are gay and be prepared to prove it.

You could also always go awol over 30 days then come back.. less than 5% of awol people go to jail....most likely you will get a "Other than Honorable discharge"

Suck it up and go. You signed up, most probably during time of conflict, you knew the risks, don't reap the rewards and not take the risk.

Combat is a BLAST, you just can't find that kind of excitement over here, go, serve your country, get out when it's your time. Have the courage...lots of us went places we didnt want to go in the name of freedom, it's your turn now.

Sorry, I shouldn't of said the awol thing. That would be bad. I'm just speaking out of my own impulse after being in Mosul for a year watching my LT get blown up and getting shot at and blown up a few times myself. It changes my your attitude about the occupation. It's not all bad. You get tax free money, free food and lodging, health care. I dont know if reserves are doing the whole 15 month deployments like active duty is but you could come back with atleast 25-30k in your wallet maybe more.

If your having emotional problems I advise you to seek counseling. Don't crap out on your battle buddies in your unit. They need every man possible over there to protect each other and to accomplish our Army mission over there. You signed up just like we all did to fight our nations battles and to defent it against all enemies foreign or domestic. Drink water and drive on.
