Ex Had SCRA Stay, So Why Did Military Order Him Back to US?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

My ex was deployed to Iraq. We were involved in family court proceedings prior to this. The military has ordered him into anger management previously for assaulting me, so they are aware there are problems between us. He was granted a 'stay' under SCRA, which my lawyer expected. Today, though, we learned that the military had given him 'orders' to return to his base from Iraq. This all transpired within the space of 2 weeks. Why would the military order someone home from Iraq so quickly? It is not emergency leave, his attorneys specifically said he was ordered back. He had only been in Iraq for 6 weeks, so my attorney asked how long his leave was for. His lawyer said he won't be going back. I am glad for our kids sake, and for his, but could something else be going on I am not privy to? Why would they fly him all the way back here for a family court case and end his mission there?
