Extra duty limitation question

If extra duty from a summarized article 15 is interupted by a surgery performed on the third day, is the command allowed by regulation to make a soldier do the days missed at a later date? From what I can gather they must be on consecutive days, as the seven days of extra duty begins on the first day you are sentenced and ends 7 to 45 days ( whatever you are given)when that date is reached? Thank in advance for the help.
