i am in the state of PA.
My husband served in the Marine corps in California.
He was discharged and came home for 10 months.
He received a call from the marine corps stating that he is UA and there is a warrant out for his arrest.
He kept constant contact with a sergeant every day until he turned himself in.
He turned himself in Feb 3rd and they threw him in the brig for being a flight risk and also being UA for 10 months.
He recently signed a SILT.
They do not want to court martial him because the legal part of his case is " so messed up"
His attorney said that if his silt is accepted he will be out.
How long is this going to take!?

No way could he have been "discharged" and now found UA. So your husband was AWOL during a period of war. NOT good.

SILT = Separation in Lieu of Trial. Yes, they'd essentially kick him out (almost certainly with an other than honorable discharge), but there's no there's no requirement for this to be speedy. Let him deal with this through his lawyer. We can't envision telling you anything else because there's obviously a ton of details we're not party to in this (probably multilateral) screw up.
