I am in the Coast Guard. In 2015 they will lower progression points and I will be a candidate for high year tenure. If I am separated it will be on September 1, 2016. At this point I will have 18 years and 10 months...14 months until 20. Am I protected under Title 10 of the USC? It states that a member cannot be involunarily separated within 2 years of retirement.
