I need some help.

What is the name of your state? California

Ok so ive been awol since jan. 02 because i didnt go back from christmas break. my wife had our son and I have other reasons for going awol.

I have friends in my local sheriff stations and they checked and I now have a warrant out for my arrest. dangerous criminal and desserter warrant...i dont know why they have a dangerous cirminal one out because i had no problems when i was in no article 15's or anything. anyways I plan on turning myself in to ft. Irwin on wednesday. I just want to know if its time to turn myself in since I have a warrant and should I go to Irwin or straight to ft. sill?...also is there a drug test when I turn myself in? and what delays should i expect if i do turn myself into ft. irwin if i should at all?

sorry about punctuation im in a hurry and pretty stressed out about this situation. Ive looked through the posts and they have helped me greatly but i need answers to these particular questions. thanks for the advice guys!

Before Bison and some of the other less reputable posters get on let me go ahead and direct you to read the numerous AWOL post available. Specifically; http://forum.freeadvice.com/showthread.php?t=402186

Since I have never personally experienced the disgraceful return to duty after going AWOL I cannot tell you for sure what to expect. If you are doing drugs while AWOL I am sure your reason for leaving must be incredibly valid. Expect to be tested and if you have been using expect to fail. Maybe it will be the wake up call you need to get off the drugs and be a real man. As far as the warrants go, if your friends in the police station know you have them and do not act then they are breaking the law an failing to do their jobs as officers. Don't worry about the consequences they will come regardless of what you do. The best thing to do is own up to your actions and get it all behind you so you can try and move on with your life.

like i said ive read all those posts and they have helped me but I wanted answers to those questions. I do have a valid reason and it has to do with my wifes health and the army failed to recognize it so I did what i had to. As for the drugs I dont do drugs. I mean if i have a perscription for xanex which is a benzo so I was just wondering if they test at pcf. i dont want the army being able to use anything against me when i try to get my discharge. Ive gone through alot because of the government which is why im in the state of mind i am in presently. I saw bisons post about a drug test but he was a marine and they might do things differently than the army. Like i said i just want to get my discharge and go on living my life with my wife and new son. Im not a bad person but the army just isnt for me. I dont believe in anything that has to do with them. and like i said i have my reasons.

If you did do a search then you would have your questions answered. When you get processed out for AWOL the process is all the same procedures no matter what branch.

Then go turn yourself in and get it over with. You are going to have to deal with this sooner or later. Why not make it sooner so you can go on with your life?

Yes. It doesn’t matter if you go turn yourself in to the county sheriff. You are going to process out the same way. I personally would go to an Army base instead of the county sheriff.

Most likely

You could spend some time in the Jail or be process out in two to three weeks with an OTH.

I was never in the Army but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

All joking aside, after you are finished with the process please come back and give us information on what happen so others can gain from it.
