I'm UA should I spend the money?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I'm UA from the Navy but I'm still getting paid. I've only been UA for about 2 weeks and I just got paid. Will they make me pay this money back?

Every red cent. You should go back to your disbursing office to discuss a repayment plan.

I am AWOL too. I'm about to turn my self in soon. I'll tell you this much i went AWOL my first time for 2 weeks, and yes they did pay me. If you turn your self in now, and you HAVE a good record they'll just give you restriction 15-30 days and you wont have to pay anything back..

I ran away again tho. And now im debt to the U.S. (says on my mypay) 3,000. So dont be like ME turn your self in. I've been applying everywhere around where i live and they all require a back ground check by the FBI (a FINGERPRINT SCAN). im not stupid enough to go do that yet. but im turning my self in. I cant take this anymore.

This is not true. The military will send you a statement a few months after being discharged. You either will be getting money from the government (if you had excess leave accrued) or you will owe the government.

If you owe them, you can work out a payment plan or you can just blow them off. They can take your tax returns for the next few years and hire a collection agency to harass you, but otherwise can't do much to make you pay.

If you need the money to live on while you are AWOL/UA, then spend it. Just be sure and take the money out of your account ASAP because sometimes the government reverses the direct deposit and takes the money back. (but they can't do that if you take it out as cash)

Are you for real? Did you just advise someone to spend money that wasn't theirs and then blow off the government?
