Lose my retirement pay?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I am 69 years old, retired Navy Enlisted (E-6)(1981), and have lived in Panama for almost 10 years. The DoD FMR is really confusing and is not clear about whether I will lose my retirement if I become a citizen of Panama.
I don't want to denounce my citizenship with the USA, and have no intention of doing that, but since I live here in Panama and are settled here on a permanent basis, I would like to become a Panamanian citizen so I can vote here in the local elections.
Does anyone have any experience in this area out there? If so, can you give me a reference, some authority that I can understand?

As long as you do not denounce your citizenship then there should not be an issue with your retirement pay. Dual citizenship will not disqualify you as far as I can tell.
