Medical Disqualification

What is the name of your state? Ohio

Last week my husband received a certified letter titled "Disposition Election for Medical Disqualification." After reading through it, it sounds like the Army is giving him an honorable discharge based upon his medical conditions (right elbow condition, right wrist condition, bilateral knee conditions, 2 herniated disk in lower back, one bulging disk in lower back, right and left inguinal hernias, adjustment disorder with anxiety and depression symptons, and chronic lower back injury).

Last September he was reactivated (he was in the Inactive Ready Reserves) and was given orders for deployment in September of 2007. We submitted all of his medical records and received notification that he would be releaved from active duty but would be reconsidered again in December. Does this new letter mean that he won't get called back? Also, does this mean that he will be entitled to a medical discharge and payment since his discharge date isn't until September of 2009?

We are currently fighting for medical benefits from the VA as well. Would this discharge help his case with them? Someone please advise. What is the name of your state?

The letter you speak of sounds as that it relates to your fight with the VA for medical benefits.
From the surface, if he is in that bad of shape, i would be very surprised if he got deployed.
As far as what type of discharge and when will be based upon the Doctors reports, and then
to his Command.
