Mistakes of long ago haunting me

What is the name of your state? TN
My question is about a long ago situation, that just not seems to be coming to bite me in the ***. It has to do with my going into the Army under false pretenses. This includes, false name, SS#, birth certif, etc etc.
My question is what are the possible out comes of such a stupid mistake. And yes, I know now it was stupid thing to do.

Are you still in? Have you been discharged? Did you enlist because you where to young? What was the reason you did this?

Answering both previous questions in one post -
No I am no longer inlisted and I entered simply because I already had a criminal record which would prevent me from entereing. I was discharged under the fake name. The picture was me on the ID. Naturally to do such I had help, it seems that one of these people -- after all these years -- apparently said the wrong thing to the wrong person.

"How is it causing you problems today in time"?

12 April 06

Dakota, what kind and type of problems are you having today in time with this very novel enlistment discharge? Also, what type of discharge to you receive? How long did you serve? And for now what was your age at the time of ypur enlistment; and what were the pending criminal charges at that time; and what became of them or it: the criminal charge[s]?

Well you can be charged with falsifying federal documents, Identity theft if the SSN was someone else's. I don't know how one could do a whole enlistment on a fake SSN without soemeone figuring it out, unless you where in during the civil war.

I would love to hear Badapple's take on this one.

I think that you will need an attorney on this one, especially if you get charges brought against you. If you cannot afford one they will have to appoint a defender for you.

There also is the "Statute of Limitations" that could possibly come into play.

Again calling Badapple

In answer to both posts once again -
The problems I am having I would rather not go into detail at this point, but I will simply say I have had "heard" from a few "old friends" of people looking into old records due to comments from this other person.

I did not serve long, was about 1 week from graduation in basic when I was discharged. The discharge was medical and my age was 29. I already had convictions of stolen credit cards and forgery and uttery as well as possion of larc. tools, a 10 year sentence which was suspended at that time after I had served 1 year, when I entered the Army with these false documents.

What thepizzaguy is what I am wondering about... the Staute of limitations.. if there is one for such. And no..lol.. it wasnt during the civil war, but was approx 10 years or so ago. As far fetched as this story sounds, it is 100% true.

The statute of limitations is 5 years for most offenses. But it is typically suspended and does not run until it is discovered for frauduent separation charges. Some folks have argued a similar "discovery rule" applies for fraudulent enlistment as well.

You are, indeed, on shaky grounds. However, the fact that you were discharged typically ends military jurisdiction.

No JAG attorney is going to want to bother bringing charges for this. It creates a legal nightmare and guaranteed appellate issues.

Exclamation

Damn

what the hell??? you didnt think that crap through did you??? lol lmfao what would u have done if you were killed MIA??? and honestly, contrary to what they said about a JAG not touching that....you had someone GET you a ss card, GET you a DL, and you enlisted as SOMEONE ELSE....someone out there now has a service record.....that they didnt create themselves....and sooner or later, its going to come up...i'm surprised it hasnt....in a way i think you're full of sh*t...the army does a background check, criminal investigation, and a birth records check(ie calls the hosp records) to determine who you are before you even TAKE THE ASVAB...at least now they do.....and i think somewhere theres a DA OR JAG whod love this sh*t...b/c someone from the SSA and DMV are going down....and just imagine, if the SS you got was someone elses, even if they were dead at the time...lol...ya you're full of sh*t...they would have caught that.....esp if the SSN belonged to an older man...most men over 35 or 40 these days served....and the VA would have caught wind...because if you're collecting any type of disability.....actually now that i think more, as long as you're reaping the benes from this little medical discharge as in SS disability, its still an open case, b/c the army or whoever is still paying for you med care in some shape way or form.....i'm a Corps wife, and wow, when i enlisted they pulled my stuff and found dirt on MY EX HUSBAND...so yeah how'd u pull that off???
