My SonWhat is the name of your state?undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Connecticut My son is Marine. As a teenager, he suffered from depression and OCD. I was shocked at his decision to become a Marine but no one could say anything to him. But now he is having problems all over again with depression and OCD. He said he can't continue and wants to get discharged. I know what it was like for him before and I was afraid this would happen. My question is, how difficult would it be for someone with this background to be discharged? His recruiter know about his past problems but it didn't seem to matter. His problems were well documented with various doctors and he was treated for quite a few years. And if he is discharged, what would this do to his future as far as employment? Thanks. |

| If he cannot adjust, I would say there is a good chance at his getting an administrative discharge, which would have little effect on his future. That needs to occur within the first 6 months of his enlistment. He needs to see the medical folks.
