Navy Reserve admin seperation question? This is my dilema, I joined the navy reserve in June, my first drill weekend was this past weekend. I am Non Prior service and have to go through indoc. I was not happy at all and was lied to by my recruiter. Well my question is can I get out, I spoke to a counselor and she advised that I would be adminstrative seperated if I chose to leave. Is this good or bad, I guess I could attempt to relist in 90 days as an option. I was wondering if I could take a entry level seperation. What should I do and if I do go admin sep what type of discharge is that. Thanks for your help. |

| How, exactly, were you "lied" to? Everyone is quick to lay the blame on the Recruiter...

| If you're sure you want to do it, you may request an admin separation. I'm pretty sure that as a NPSer you are also a non-obligor. Go to your next drill weekend, request the admin sep. Your section lead and leading chief may talk to you but they won't be mean or anything. The Navy is all about force reduction right now and that extends to the Reserves. Weigh this one out. The Navy is a great service and the first drill may not be indicative of the way all of them will go from here out. |
