I live in the sate of Missouri.

I am trying to find what "Santcuary Zone" means. I went through an Admin Board back in 2005 and waiting for the final action from the SecAF and in the paper work I noticed that my records reflect that I have 18 Years of service, but only 16 Good years and it should actually be "17" and then the records reflected that I was in Sanctuary Zone---I called the ADC at HQ AFRC and he told me not to worry about it that it does not apply to me. For some reason he would not define it for me. Any help would be most grateful.

A "sanctuary zone" is typically a period of time prior to retirement when it becomes harder for the government/military to discharge/release you. It is basically a protection against being let go 'just short' of retirement and thus losing otherwise earned retirement benefits (e.g. getting to 18.5 years and being told "we no longer need you.").

Normally, IIRC, if you are going to be discharged/fired during the 'sanctuary zone' period it must be "for cause". I'm not familiar with the details of how various 'admin' seps qualify under "for cause". It might be worth taking a look at.
