need help getting out of the army

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

Okay first of all please don't judge me
I finished basic and ait but was still within 180 days in the army.
I went awol after 2 days with my unit after i found out that recruiters and drill sergeants talk a lot of ****. Through basic and ait and from recruiters all i heard was that once we get to our unit things get a lot better, we get treated better, the foods better, its just better. So i stuck it out through basic and ait.
But once i got to fort campbell i realized it was all bull ****. So my question is can i still get a chapter 10 from fort sills. Is it on a case by case bases cause some people have been saying yes and some no. or at the very least could i get a ch. 11 since i was still within 180 days went i went awol which is a failure to adapt. and could i do this at fort sills. pretty much what would be the easiest way out of the army that doesnt require going back to my old unit. \

thanks for all the help.

A big decision

You did sign a contract and really there is no legal way to undo that. I don't think anyone here will give you the loopholes around the system because a loophole by the definition is illegal. The sixth month marked your talking about means that any person separated during their first six months will get a general discharge because there was not enough time to evaluate the service member. Therefore the discharge will not be honorable or dishonorable. I will say this much the absolutely last thing you want is a dishonorable discharge.

I know there is a war going on right now. I know it's hard on all service members. I encourage you to stay in. Many people make things of themselves because of service. The education benefits and other things. The first two or three years will be the hardest of your career because you have to prove yourself. You did something stupid, you made a mistake. Let the chain know that it was a mistake and your remorseful. That you will learn from it. The military is all about you being a man and standing on your own two feet. As a man you are accountable for your actions and it's your responsibility to be responsible. The military will not give you everything you have to earn things. Don't be afraid to earn it. Don't compare things. Just do what you do and do the best you can.

You have a big decision to make. You can get out kicking and screaming. You can stay in and give it a shot. There are many people and organizations the military has. You'll have to seek them out for guidance. Part of growing up is finding answers on your own. Don't be afraid to stand on your own two feet. If you choose to get out by means of a loophole make sure you know the full consequences of what will happen because it cannot be undone. Good luck and God bless.

Can you get a Chapter 10 or 11? depends.

A Chapter 10 is a seperation in lieu of a Court Martial is only going to happen if the Army is more interested in getting you out than charging with a crime.....from my understanding that seems to be what is happening in a lot of the cases.

A Chapter 11 has to requested within 180 days from your entry onto Active Duty.... personnel seperations are not my area of expertise, but I'm not sure that the clock stopped the day you went AWOL. I don't know what your MOS is, so I don't know how long you were in IET, but you can't have more than 1-2 months to make a decision to turn yourself in and still be considered for a Chapter 11, seeing as you should have burned most of that 180 days up in Basic and AIT. Your unit shouldn't be doing a packet to DFR you (Dropped from Rolls) until you've been AWOL for 30 days, so you're still on their books but listed as AWOL until that time is up**************.

You need to read the stickied posts at the top of the forum and start calling people about turning yourself in, they'll have the answers on the likelyhood that you'll be sent back to your unit.
