I am from New Hampshire, but am currently stationed in Texas. I joined the Air Force on August 11th of last year. I've completed Basic Training, and Tech School with no problems. In fact, I love it so far! However, about three weeks ago, I started getting heart pains and began sleep walking. Both of these conditions completely new to me. I didn't think much of them at first, thinking that maybe it was stress, even though I wasn't stressed at all. Acstually I was excited to get to my first base and start in the operational Air Force. Then, about two Mondays ago, the first time ever, I passed out cold for about 45 mins directly following a heart pain. This happened three times in a matter of three days. I still have the heart pains daily to this day, however I haven't passed out since then. The sleep walking, however, has been persistent. Every night I've had an incident, two of which included me leaving my dorm room. I have been seeing the doctor about these conditions. They've been referring me to other specialists, however they can't seem to pin point what the problem is with my heart. They are still investigating a couple of EKG's that something popped up on, but nothing promising. The sleep walking, however, has been determined is neurological by a phycologist, and there's nothing they can do about it except give me precautions to take to keep myself safe when I go to bed at night. At this point, they're considering sending my case to the MEB for the sleep walking. What I'm worried about, aside from being discharged, is what's going to happen when or if I am. I have nothing to go home to. I sold most of my furniture and don't have an apartment or any money saved to get one considering I've lived pay check to pay check for quite some time. Any advice you could give me before I go to the MEB would be greatly appreciated, considering I've been sort of left in the dark about all this by my doctors.
