Question

Hello, I just have a quick question. Basically ... I lied to get into the military. I've only been in about 7 1/2 months, and I had depression and asthma as a kid. I think the asthma went away because it only bugs me a little when I go out on the 6 mile runs, but I can make it through those. What's getting worse is the depression. It's getting really bad, some good days and some bad days ... a lot of bad days. I am at my job school, and I was thinking about speaking to my NCO about it, and telling him about my history that I didn't say anything about at MEPS or in my SRB or anything. I was wondering what would happen if I told him about my history and what is happening now to see if I could talk to someone or if there was something I could do to help, and he decided to report it?
I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

Thumbs up

Never ever say that you lied! That will put the people that you say that to in a bad possition.
It doesn't matter about your religion, but seek the help of the Chaplin. He can probably give you or point you to the best help available without putting you at risk. That is why he is there.
Good luck and hang in there.

The military has fine psychologist's that can help you with the depression. You're only hurting yourself if you continue to conceal this, and you're worth more than that. No need in telling anyone that you lied about anything. Just let your C.O. know that you have some issues, and ask him to direct you.
