What is the name of your state? NY My son who was in the army for 14 months turned himself in back at his base (Ft Riley) after being AWOL for 5months . After only a month he was given a general discharge with honerable conditions. Just want to thank everyone for your advice he is now able to get a job and live a normal life without constantly looking over his shoulder, and I am finally ably to sleep at night knowing this is all over.

I am curious as to how he managed to secure a General (honorable) discharge. Every member I have known to go AWOL for that amount of time wound up with a OTH or worse.

Glad to hear things are going well for him and you. Especially you.
