ROTC records

10 years ago, I did 1 year of AF ROTC. I was not on scholarship and owed no commitment at that point. I did not continue, but does the military keep those records? Are my test scores and everything still on file somewhere? Do I have any rights to my records?

No, they are all gone now.

YES. The college where you traveled to for your ROTC classes gave you one credit for each GMC/POC class you completed. Request a transcript from that college and you will see the credit.

As for your former ROTC detachment, they had a file plan in use that allowed them to retain and discard any files more than one year old that were not being used any longer.
Unless you gave them a VERY GOOD reason to keep them, they did not. What I mean is if you were a troublemaker, they kept them until they decided it was safe to discard them.

IF your were a troublemaker, and IF they thought it would be wise to keep your records, they would be down at the HQ AFROTC at Maxwell AFB. Ask to be put in touch with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officer to request a FOIA request.
