security clearance question

What is the name of your state? CA

I am a Navy ROTC midshipman (in college) in CA. I currently possess a secret security clearance. In June, I made the stupid mistake of walking out with a few items from the school store. I was arrested and received a ticket for petty theft (misdemeanor). I hired a lawyer, and he was able to keep the case out of court and I had an informal city attorney hearing with no punishment due to my scholastic and aptitude record.

I was wondering if there was a procedure for me to report my incident to the Navy or should I just wait until I have to reapply for a security clearance renewal.

I am applying to navy nuclear propulsion, which requires a TS clearance. I was wondering how this will affect my ability to obtain a TS clearance and my career in the Navy.

When you go from Secret to Top Secret, you'll more than likely have to fill out an SF86, it will ask about convictions, etc..

Curious, how do you accidently walk out with items from a bookstore?

it was by no means accidental. it was a mistake, and a one time mistake that taught me a lesson.

You might have felt you've changed since then, and learned a lesson.. But, there are consequences for actions...

is it still possible they will grant me a TS clearance, if I get selected for the nuclear propulsion program and already received the $10,000 assession bonus?
