Slander

What is the name of your state? Oklahoma

I have a few questions.

After I became permanent party, I began dating my former Drill Sergeant from AIT. He is a SSG and I was a PV2 when we started seeing one another, but our relationship was never out of Army regulations. We weren't keeping it a secret since we weren't doing anything wrong so practically everyone knew. No one seemed to mind until I got pregnant. My fiance's EO Rep found out I was pregnant and with no evidence whatsoever told her commander she suspected we had been together when I was a soldier in training. An investigation was opened on us immediately. After this investigation is over, what would be the best way for me to go about pressing charges on her for slander?

I don't see a slander arguement here. She has every right to start a investigation in fact she would probably be remis if she didn't.

I understand looking at it from an outsiders point of view. But consider it a personal matter. Two people who never exchanged a word more than necessarry when the time was inappropriate. The EO Rep knew about us when we were dating after I was through with training for the longest time. She never made anything of it until we were engaged and I was pregnant. My fiance and I had both already discussed matters with our chains of command, and were told we were not doing anything out of regulation. If the EO Rep was doing what was right and neccessary, and not for a means of gossip and cruelty, wouldn't she have reported her suspicions immediately instead of waiting for these somewhat binding circumstances?

Also, since the investigation is based on him and his career, am I required to write a sworn statement? Can adverse actions be taken against me if I do not comply? Can this investigation continue even after he and I are married? Can this investigation interfere with my Chapter 8?

Thanks very much for all the help.

I still don't see how you could claim slander. If she is executing this investigation to just be a mean B!%^ then although wrong, it is her call.

No you can't be forced to write a statement, but there are consequences for unpopular decisions.

There is more to this than you are telling, I think...
