Trying to join the Marines

What is the name of your state? Texas

When I was 12 I was the lookout for some older "friends" of mine at the time who broke into a concession stand and bam Class B Felony, anyway fast forward almost 8 years and I'm trying to Join the Marines, the recruiter said he'd have to check my background to see what it says, I told him I was a minor, my involvement, and the time since then and that i've cleaned up, to elaborate i;m not sure what the charge was i think it was burglary or breaking and entering not sure, anyway thats the "only" thing I have on their, Ive gotten my life back on a good path and want to continue my education and career in the military as a Network Specialist, Ive never been in trouble with the law since save for 3 tickets all paid and removed by Defensive Driving, Alos got my Eagle Scout last year, also i've been trying to contact the city hall to see if they would consider lowering it since i'm joining the Marines (small town i know the judge and every police officer their) Is their a possibility this could be overlooked and/or waive? thanks in advance.

That is something that is considered on a case by case basis. Good luck.

Sealed records can always be accessed by the United States government.

I'm going to agree here. As far as I know, and i'm a military child with the majority of my family being in one branch or another , background checks are done but only to a certain point. The farther back and the more invasive checks are usually done when certain positions are being considered i.e Special Forces or certain other positions. For general recruiting though, I believe they dont check too far back and in most cases tend to overlook what they consider adolescent acting up....if they didnt than a fair amount of new recruits would never make it into the military

If you cannot have a criminal record, then don't commit criminal acts - seems simple enough.
