Turning yourself in at a police stationWhat is the name of your state? KY I was just wondering what is the main difference in turning yourself in from being UA at a civilian police station Vs. at a Recruiting station or base? I know once you get to the police station they are more than likely going to call Military authorities......once they get there are we going to fly back or drive? Do I request that I want a JAG lawyer when I turn myself into civilian authorities, so that they can tell the chasers that come and apprehend me? How long will I be at the police station? Thank You all! |

I know that I would have to wait a couple extra days in civilian control while the military chasers got there...is that the only bad thing? Thank You! |

| Try a recruiting station, some of the disgraces that post here talk about doing that and receiving a tax dollar trip to take care of their business. We can't all be Washingtons, but we can all be patriots. ~Charles F. Browne |

Very well. If you do mind sitting around in a civilian jail untill the military gets around to picking you up then go for it. I don't think they will let you turn yourself in untill you have a federal warrant issued for your arrest though. You can turn yourself in to any military installation. They will pay for your return. It is not military policy to make turning yourself in difficult.

I heard that no matter where I turn myself in it can take the chasers atleast a couple days to pick me up, so if I was to go to a recruiting station, where would they hold me because they are not open 24hrs a day? Last edited by LivinLife21; 05-08-2008 at 08:50 PM. |

| The police station would hold you (usually around 3 days) until the chasers came, the recruiter's office or a reserve unit would print you orders (most likely to Quantico) that day. |

| You need to look up the definition of a deserter. Any member that has been UA/AWOL more than 30 days or less, if it is apparent they are not planning to return, is considered a deserter. "Whether we bring our enemies to justice, or justice to our enemies, justice will be done."- George W. Bush |
