Unemployment

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Maryland. A friend of mine was kicked out of the US army for being AWOL. He still is recieving Unemployment. He got an OTH discharge. I recieved a BCD in the Air Force and can't recieved unemployment for marijuana usage. Is this right?
