What is the name of your state (only U
.S. law)?
Texas
My son fell out of his top rack 6 weeks ago. He suffered a concussion and immediate hearing loss in his left ear. The docs at the base treated him by removing wax and a dose of antibiotics. He came home for the holidays and I took him to an ENT MD. Ct scan and an audiogram showed a 80 % hearing loss. After a dose of steroids we went back for a repeat hearing test, No change. Md said this is permanent hearing damage and he would benefit from the use of a hearing aid.
Our questions- Will the USMC recognize this or just ignore?
He is in the infrantry, can he change his MOS?
Will they discharge him? and will it be honorable etc?
He is an exceptional young man and does not neccessarily want to be discharged. He scored extremely high on his tests, His recruiter said he could chose any MOS he wanted.
He flew back yesterday and is submitting his med records to the docs that saw him on base.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
