USFK DBIDS questionWhat is the name of your state? Korea, Republic of Ok, this is less of legal advice, and more of just a general question regarding the reporting that DBIDS does. A few days ago I was coming back on post and might have cut it too close to curfew (it really was that close where they were starting to shut the gates). Their wall clock said I had 1min left to be safe, but if the system says I was late, who knows. I didnt ask the Korean what time their system said, so now I am trying to find out if DBIDS does an automatic report? If I was indeed late, will an AR15 come to me one day when I don't expect it? I dont really understand how the system works, and dont want to ask the people who work with DBIDS for fear of them turning me in if I might possibly be overlooked. 1) does DBIDS do an automatic report that gets sent to someone in my chain of command? 2)do they do anything with this possible report? like mail me an AR15. I wouldnt be worried about this, but I go on terminal leave shortly, and if I am going to get in trouble, I want to bring it down now, so I dont lose leave days serving my extra duty. ThanksWhat is the name of your state? |

| How spotless is your Military Record to date? As far as a maybe for being late, there are a lot of unknown factors, so far now, it would be just speculation; and if anything becomes from it, then most likely it would be up to your "CO." And about your [terminal leave] could you elaborate, and or clarify this?

| Other than 1-2 "your room was dirty" counselings I have no AR15s, I have no letters of reprimand, I have basically been a model guy as far as not screwing up. Terminal leave, thats what I'm calling my ETS leave, I am almost done with my 4 years and will be going on ETS/terminal leave in like 60days or so. I just dont want to get 45/45 and lose some days when I could be getting paid to sit on my couch about to ETS. |

| OK, and OK. Suggest you respectfully request to personally speak with your First Sgt., and law it all out to him or her; and clearly convey upon that you are hoping if not praying that this will not cause any problems down the road, or be entered into your SRB! Thank you for your Honorable Service in helping to defend and protect our Constitution and way of life.

| I disagree with Shorty. I would not go the FSgt over this. First, you did not break any laws as far as you are aware of. Second, going to the FSgt is likely to highlight the problem, and if you got through the gate on time, then thats your argument. A clock issue isn't going to lead to an article 15. No JAG office in their right mind would sign off on that. WAY too many issues about what time is the right time, intent issues, what clock counts, etc. You did not have the intent to disobey the regulation or order and made the effort to get back on time. They aren't going to AR15 you over a minute when you got through the gate. Maybe LOC (and that is even a stretch -- my guess: worst case you are looking at is a talking to). But that isn't going to mess with your ETS. Ride out the last of your days and stay out of other trouble/charges -- you should be good to go. --badapple, COL, JA, USAFR
