What happens in the Casual Platoon for UA Marines?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
If a Marine who has been UA decides to retain, they spend some time in the casual platoon. Aparently, they stay longer than a UA Marine wishing to be discharged. How long are they there? Will they be charged with anything? Do they face court martial?
