What Should i Do???What is the name of your state? Wi I am in the army reserves and i just recently came back from overseas because i am pregnant. I am in the prosses of demobing, but they are telling me here that its going to take a month mim. to get me out of here. I dont have any other reason to stay here because i am not getting in trouble for it and all they have to do is sign some papers on my packet and then im off..yet its still gona take a month. anyways my fience is coming home on leave in two weeks and that will be the last time i would get to see him until he comes back from overseas. The only thing is is that i asked my sgt here if i could go on leave for those two weeks when his leave is. Even though i do not have enough leaved saved up. My sgt told me that i wouldnt beable to go on leave. Im thinking about going awol those two weeks just so i can see my fience, but how much trouble would i acually get in? Isnt is that in order to be considered awol you have to be gone for 30+ days? if thats true what would they consider me if im only gone 2 to 2 1/5 weeks? im just go desperate to see my fience since its going to be the last time we are accualy going to get to see eachother until he gets back which isnt for another 8 months.? A lil help please? |

You're getting out free and clear and with "good paper". Don't screw that up.

Difference between AWOL and DesertionIn response to the charges: If you are not at your appointed place of duty at the appointed time you are guilty of Article 86. Unauthorized Absence. If you are UA/AWOL for more than 30 days then you are declared a deserter. UA/AWOL is USUALLY a simple Article 15, NJP proceeding. Commanders discretion if he or she convenes a Courts-Martial. Desertion is almost always a courts-martial offence. I can understand your desire to see your fiance before he deploys, however; you are about to be cut loose on good terms. If you don't care what rank/grade you get out as, and can afford the cut in pay and forfieture of pay and allowances a NJP will bring, then I can't stop you. Another option is to request a special liberty pass to see him. |
