askme


calif. wife and i refinanced our home in her name with grant deed put in her name as single woman.? she said she'd put it back in both our names after it was funded. do we still own it together as community property?can she sell it out from under me?or do i have to get my name on grant deed again?

How did you get talked in the deed in her name only? If so you may have just signed over the home to HER! This could have been handled with closing of the loan, seems to me.

Why are you here asking this question unless there are troubles in the marriage?

calif. yes there is trouble.
my broker said it is a matter of trust to do it that way and have her put it back in our name after funding.
she went hrough her son a loan officer to refinance.

how did i get talked into signing deed? she said it was to get her credit up so i was willing to help her out.trusting which i won't anymore.
if i really did sign over home to her can i fall back on community property?
and yes there is trouble.

I'd tell him the "bad news" answer, but why bother? If he did such a stupid thing without realizing what he was doing, then why bother giving him an answer he won't comprehend?

calif.a bad news answer is ok... just say it. why don't you try giving an appropriate answer maybe he will comprehend.
