Aunt and Uncle let the home be foreclosed

What is the name of your state? South Carolina

My question is regarding a mortgage my husband had for his Uncle & Aunt's house. The mortgage went into foreclosure proceedings in 2003. We were unaware 1) his aunt and uncle did not inform us they weren't or couldn't pay.
2) we were not contacted by the mortgage company by phone or mail to our house number/my husband's work number. The mortgage company had both phone numbers because we updated our home number with them in 2002. 3) we found out his uncle or aunt signed for him when the certified letter was sent to their home. So we were still unaware.

We found out 2 weeks before it was auctioned and we were able to catch it up and stop foreclosure. I have several questions. First, can we do anything legally towards the mortgage company for not contacting us, since they didn't call us at the 2 numbers that we gave them. ( Mind you my husband has worked at the same place for 10yrs and the number has never changed.) Second, the mortgage company had us listed as foreclosing a year after we stopped the foreclosure. We paid on time until the house caught on fire and was a total loss. Third, to get this off my husband's credit would we have to show fault by the mortgage company and his uncle/aunt for signing documents in his name. Thank you for your time.

Whose name is the mortgage in, is your husband just a co-signer?

Whose name is the deed in?

The uncle committed any fraud here by signing your husband's name, not the bank.

Exactly what do you want from the bank?

Writer, according to your post, the lender has done nothing wrong.

But, I also want to know if the fire was of suspicious origin?
