Class action ?

What is the name of your state? Mort was in NJ live in NC
About 6 years ago there was a class action against ChaseManhattan Mort. I lost about $600.00 how do I find out the outcome.
short story My orig. mortgage was sold at least three times in a 6 month period I was never notified and continued to pay orig. mort. company and they cashed check. Not until I recieved forclosure papers was I aware of this. Anyway my attorney handled it and I was caught up but they charged me late fees totally around $600.00 and would never remove them and I refused to pay them.
When I paid the house off my attorney said to get a clear title I had to pay this money and I can't sue or file a suit because it's part of a class action.
For years I recieved these little updates in the mail explaining what was going on and to fill this or that out as I did. Then nothing now for years how do I find out if anything was ever settled or if it just went away. Class action was due to the way they were charging late fees as in my case.

Class action means the Lawyers get theirs first THEN all the others involved get theirs. Funny part is that there is usually cents on the dollar left after Lawyers. 600 MIGHT net you 2 or 3 dollars, if you are lucky, IF the class action suit was won that is.

Do you have any knowledge that it was indeed settled?
