condo HOA foreclosure?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida.
i was summons by the HOA and have as of today less then 10 days to respond.
"Notice of Lis Pendens" the complaint is Count #1- Lien Foreclosure. Count #2- Breach of Contract.
Basically it is for not paying on a special Assessment fee and on one of 2 HOA fee.
i simply didn't have the money and don't have it. i am renting out the condo. i am not working as i was let go on 9-11-08. what are my options? what kind of responds do i put together?
i would like to keep my condo, but can I?
thank you for your time.

Simple! Pay the assessment, (plus legal fees, late fee and interest, if any), or do not.

"Responds" to what? I suppose you can try to challenge the validity of the assessment, but odds say you'll lose that one, which brings us back to Square One: pay, or do not pay.

I stopped being able to see the future about 3 weeks ago, but my guess is that if you don't pay for your condo, you don't get to keep your condo. That's usually how it works.
