Hello, my fiance's ex signed a quit claim deed on their property in November 2004 and received a large sum of money as a buy out at that time. In May 2005, she sent him a spreadsheet demanding an additional $9500 that she "forgot" to add to the quit claim. It includes money spent on the house during the time she lived there (appliances, carpet cleaning, insurance, etc) as well as funds she put into escrow for the initial purchase. Does she have legal ground to take him to small claims court? They were never married so there has not been a lawyer involved yet. Thanks! |
