flood Ins?

What is the name of your state? PA
I took out a mortgage in Dec 07. I have a flood determination that I am not in a flood Zone. The bank then sold my mortgage to another bank. Now they tell me that their provider found me in a flood zone. They say I will be force placed if I dont get flood insurance. Can they do that? I have had 3 mortages in 15 years, and always was determined not in the flood plain and never had a requirement to get flood ins. I took this mortgage out with a valid determination. Can the bank this was sold to do this? Maureen Chojnacki

Have you checked a free FIRMette of your area or any updates yourself to see if fema.gov thinks you may be in a flood zone?

When I refi'd with my existing lender they asked if I had flood insurance. It turns out they had gotten a report for the wrong county (my city overlaps 2 counties). My home was built in 1910 and does not even have or need a sump pump. So my refi was delayed until they got the proper report.
