What is the name of your state? WI
Can a mortgage company tell you if they are forclosing on a property?

Yes, and they usually will tell you if they are planning to foreclose on your property. They will have collectors call you every day asking for money, send you letters, threaten to sue you, and hire attorneys to pursue with the foreclosure. If they are foreclosing on your house, you'll know about it.
