Foreclosure Auction in NM

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NM

After getting injured at work and not being able to pay my mortgage, I knew I was going to lose my home. Back near the end of June, I was served paperwork dating from April asking me to show cause for my non-payment of my mortgage. This last Saturday, I received in the mail a notice that my home will be up for auction on Oct 16. I have never received any paperwork about the home being foreclosed upon, etc. The letter came in regular mail, not registered, etc. Is this the correct way to notify someone that their home has been foreclosed?

I am not able to live in the home due to the home having all bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and my injuries preclude me from climbing stairs. My injury at work was covered by Workman's Comp. Is this something I can use to help me clear the debt from my name? I am probably going to be filing for bankruptcy in February, but wonder if workman's comp is something that will keep me from being able to clear this debt under bankruptcy.

Also, I have noticed numerous errors in the paperwork I received. The biggest one is that the auction location of the property is listed as the old county courthouse steps, but that courthouse was torn down 3 months ago and there is nothing there currently except a vacant lot surrounded by safety fencing for the construction site; there is a new courthouse, but it is in a temporary structure a few blocks from where the auction location lists. I just added that tidbit as extra info.
