Foreclosure/Civil Judgement in Pa

Pennsylvania, 2002

My house was forclosed upon and sold in 2002. Foreclosure is Judicial in Pa.

There is a Civil Judgement listed on my credit reports in the Public Records section dated 2002 for an amount that is greater than what I owed on the property at the time of foreclosure.

I doubt this is a deficiency judgement, always thought it was the actual foreclosure judgement, but am not certain and I'm wondering what my liability is.

I have not reviewed the recorded judgement or case file, guess that's my next step. Am I able do this from out of state?

Since the house was sold, should the judgement show as satisfied? On my CR the status is listed as 'NA'.

I would like to buy another house now but am uncertain how the 2002 foreclosure/judgement will affect me in getting a mortgage.

Thank you

You'll need some good luck . . . and a large down payment.

My questions are more about the legal issues.

The judgement will drop from my CRs in 1 yr. With FICOs in the 700's and 10%-20% down I don't see any real problems with obtaining a new mortgage.
