foreclosure during closing of sale Hi, I owned a house in North Dakota. It was awarded to me in my divorce. Unfortunately, shortly after the divorce I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, depression and PTSD. I lost my management position, was demoted and eventually was forced onto social security disability. After struggling for several months to keep up my payments, foreclosure was imminent. I found a realtor to sell my house at a loss to me (I would walk away with $1,000-2,000. I was told that since we had a buyer, the realtor would work with the mortgage company to delay the foreclosure. In the middle of closing on the deal, the mortgage was foreclosed on, and I was given notice (tacked on door by my realtor--now working for the lender) to vacate within 30 days. My realtor told me that some "paper" failed to be filed, and that's why the lender foreclosed. I was too depressed and overwhelmed by my life at the time to even know what to do. I moved out of my home with my 3 children, and never looked back. My question to you is what the heck happened? I felt then, and still feel, that someone dropped the ball. Was it me? Or did my realtor mess up? Were they to blame? Is there any recourse? I suppose it's too late now, anyway, this occurred 6 years ago. I still miss my home, but I don't miss ND.Last edited by catspjs; 01-14-2005 at 11:22 AM. Reason: grammatical error |

| "...Was it me? Or did my realtor mess up? Were they to blame? Is there any recourse?..." I do not think this post is about land, is it? Please check with your doctors to make sure you are still doing okay. Post back and tell us your progress.... |

In Re:It absolutely has to do with my foreclosure. Your response was insulting; I gave a brief background by way of explaining why I didn't follow up at the time it happened. My house was foreclosed on in the middle of closing a sale. The realtor had informed me they were getting some kind of delay with the mortgage company. He later told me there was a glitch in filing some paperwork, and the lender had foreclosed, in spite of us being a day away from closing the sale. I want to know what happened. Did the realtor do something wrong? And I'm doing very well, thank you. |

| "...Your response was insulting...." You are wrong. Just like your failure to take action was wrong back then. Because you did not take action, you agreed with what happened. |
