Foreclosure question

What is the name of your state? IL
My dads house went to forclosure. A person was interested in buying the house. The realtor talked the bank into not selling the house at a forclosure auction at the end of May. Today was the closing date but the buyer fell thru because of lack of financing. So... the question is... what happens next? Will the bank try to sell the house at an auction again, or will they give him an eviction notice?

Thanks!

Either way doesn't he need to be finding housing elsewhere before long?

I can't believe this is the second time today I have said this but if he files BK quickly enough it might stop the foreclosure. Now I have to go wash my mouth out with soap because I just took on part of someone elses debt AGAIN!

We already moved him into another house, but there was 40 years worth of stuff in there. Its not completely moved out yet - I just want to know what will happen next. As far as filing bankrupcy, he will be doing that because when my mom died last month she had alot of medical bills and credit card dbt. Unfortunately they were scammed and sent thousands of dollars to a fake lottery that promised them millions. They ran up the credit cards to send money orders to another country. Its a shame, he could have kept his house if he would have sent that money to the mtg co.
