How Can I Find Out If There Is A Deficiency Judgement On An Old Foreclosure?

I live in AL. How do I find out if there is a deficiency judgment on a foreclosure about 6 yrs ago. The bank left it as open account delinquint for 3 yrs before starting an actual foreclosure and refused to work anything out or give any info on process. I saw a lis pendens in the paper about a yr or more ago but couldnt really find out any info. The home went south after a divorce and though my ex broke the divorce decree i couldnt get any help or real info on the situation. I was advised to sign a quitclaim deed with divorce papers and included a check for $12,000 in exchange for a refi on her behalf. She cashed the check and filed bankruptcy instead and i was left owing on property i no longer owned. I was told i could only pursue this in civil court and that she was bankrupt so it would be a waste and that the mortgage was a legal contract that preceeded the divorce decree. Within a month or so i learned in the paper that the house burnt down. I also found out that though I sent money for partial payments to her and she mailed checks they were bad checks therefor esgrow insurance was not in effect. I was 90% sure of how it burnt but couldnt prove it and here i stand. I need to sell my house i have now and would like to know what to expect. I have no leins against the property i own now and it seems to be just a normal, done foreclosure on my credit. I went from lawyer to lawyer for the first 3 yrs and all i got was further in debt with consult fees. Not to mention the $1500 paid to the attorney that advised me to sign the original divorce. Also I just recently realized the age of consent for signing a contract in AL is 19 and i was barely 18 when we bought the property. Does that matter?
