Question

I think I'm too nice...

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Mexico is where the problem is, I reside in Alabama.
My husband and i are in the midst of a divorce. I moved 1500 miles away, he got everything. to help him at the time, I left my name on the mortgage. He's been foreclosed on, but my name's all over it. Do I have any Legal options at this time? I haven't lived there in a year, and while i was there, it was always current. I'm a little stressed now. Our divorce will not be final before the foreclosure is.
Thanks to anyone who can give me some insight!

Options for what? Did you make sure the payments on the house were made? You went far away and did not bother making sure the house was sold or refinanced BEFORE putting 500 miles between you and the house on which YOU still had a mortgage co-responsibility..

Was there equity at the time of the FC? Was it upside down? If upside down, in order to sell, he would have needed to make up the shortfall if the lender would not agree to a short sale. And what ability did he have to sell in the current market? Were there a glut of properties he'd be competing with?

OP, you better start making payments on the mortgage as you are legally required to.
