IRS Tax Lien and Foreclosure Question

Florida is where the house is. I owe a federal tax lien to the IRS. The lien was in plkace prior to me purchasing a house. Now the bank wants to foreclose on the house. But they are asking that the IRS walk away from the lien. I have more than enough equity in the house to cover the lien and pay off the bank. But the bank wants the home out right and they want the IRS to take the lien off EVEN THOUGH THE LIEN IS OLDER THAN THE PURCHASE DAT OF THE HOUSE by about 6 years. I would like the house to pay the bank off and pay the IRS off so I can get on with my life... What I don't want though is for the bank (who knew I had the lien prior to giving me the loan) to walk away with ALL of the equity and not pay off the IRS. The IRS states that is some cases they will release the lien if the house was purchased before the lien was in effect and that it is at there discretion. I can't seem to find a contact within the IRS that can help me with that.. I have spent hours on the phone with them and i am like a ping pong ball bouncing around from number to number that the next IRS operator gives me. They keep giving me numbers and when I call the next IRS agent they give me another number... Can anyone help???? What would you do??????
