What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Florida

A former landlord has a judgement against me and has threatened to foreclose on my property, can he do that?

**A: yes, he is legally entitled to threaten to foreclose on your property.

I am not sure if there is a lien on the property or not. I will look into it and go from there. I am angry because I offered to pay him the balance less interest and he would not accept. I have four children and I cannot afford to pay him over 2000 worth of interest.

Wow, that is really messed up. I offered to pay him the balance minus the interest but he would not accept it should I send it anyways or will he still be entitled to foreclose? I am so angry!

He is entitled to collect by any legal means possible. If it's to put a lien on your property and profit from the sale of it, than so be it. He has a judgement against you. With that, he has the right to collect whatever amounts on that judgement plus interest from the time he obtained the judgement until you pay it off.

If he said he won't take payment less the interest, he has a right too.

Get a HELOC and have a check sent to former to pay it off in full.
