Judgement lien question?

What is the name of your state? NY
Credit Card lien on my house. Wife got into trouble with credit cards 20 years ago. Retained a Credit lawyer and he indicated he would handle situation with CC company. A few years went by and we found that the lawyer skipped the state with our and everyone elses money. CC company then imposed the lien on my house. Any advice would be helpful.
