Loan Satisfaction Letter

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
I recently paid off my second mortgage and they sent me a loan satisfaction letter. Do I need to record this at the court house?

No, the bank should have filed to release the lien. It wouldn't be a bad idea to check with the court house after a couple of weeks and make sure they indeed have done so.
