Mechanics lien

What is the name of your state? California

I was trying to refi my my house when the title company found a Mechanics lien from a House cleaner we stopped using 3 1/2 years ago . The Mechanics lien(for $324) was only filed in March of this year. We canceled a $55 check due to the cleaners breaking a lamp shade and not cleaning things as they should have. After canceling the check we had spoke to the cleaning service and explained why we canceled the check and have not heard from them until discovering this lien.

Is there any time limits to filing a Mechanics lien? Also the Doc does not show a date of service.

Originally the Mortgage company said they were on hold until we cleared this off our title. I just received a call saying the Mechanics lien has expired and they want to proceed with the refi.

How can I verify this lien taken off?
