mortgage

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL.

This is a general question. We have company that is a law firm in Florida that want to represent us with out Mortgage company. We have any adjustable rate ( that is very high) and also our 325k house is now only worth 180k. They want a retainer from us but before I do this, I need to know if what they are saying is true. They will help us with our lender to get the loan redone so we can afford and not loose our home. We are two months behind now. I asked them how could the represent us here in IL when they are out of Florida. They told me that the main partner ( which I did check their web site and googled the three lawyers and they do exist) is Federally licenced to partice is all 50 states. Is there such a thing? Can a lawyer be licensed in such a way. We are in IL , he is in Florida and the mortgage company is in Utah. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

dzap,

Find a lawyer in your local. I'm sure there are plenty of real estate lawyers who understand the laws in your state better than someone from FL.

Good Luck,

DiZZ
