Mortgage company tried to change our home insurance policy

My wife and I applied for a refinance cash out loan from a mortage company that was also the lender. We have had to address some family issues so told the mortgage company to put the loan on hold. Yesterday we received a call from our insurance company saying that the mortgage company where we applied had called and wanted to change the lien holder name on our policy to the mortagage company name and wanted to raise our insured amount. I called the mortgage company today and he said that he had told his helper to call our insurance company to tell them to put everything on hold. What?Do we have any legal grounds to file a lawsuit against the mortgage company?
